Are you enjoying the editing process?

Is it difficult? Why/Why not?

What program/s are you using?

For our mv editing, I used “Jian Ying” to complete the transition of the camera, our Studio logo, and subtitles. Because it was my first time participating in editing, I made a lot of silly mistakes at the beginning, such as adding a lot of blackouts in some camera transitions. Later, I also realized this through the feedback of the audience. Regarding the addition of subtitles, initially I typed them word by word into my computer, but Richard told me that I could directly search for songs and he would have an automatic subtitle display. Through these days of learning, I can now clearly organize the transition and subtitle display of our MV Editing is a difficult task for a beginner, but if you have friends who can edit, they can teach you how to do it when you have any questions about editing. I really enjoyed the editing process because when I finished editing our music video, I learned a lot of editing skills, which will also be very helpful for my future life.

What research have you done to develop your skills?

Various parameters of a DSLR camera

This is the resources I found in Bilibili to develop my shooting skill.

1. Focal length, usually measured in millimeters (millimeters), is the size of the main viewing angle for image shooting;

2. Our common DSLR has a standard lens of 50MM because the field of view at this focal length is close to the range we can see with a single eye;

3. The smaller the focal length value, the wider and larger the angle that can be shot. Lenses below 50MM are also known as wide-angle lenses;

4. The larger the focal length value, the smaller and farther the angle that can be shot, and a lens higher than 50MM is also known as a medium to long focal length lens;

5. The unit of aperture is F in English, which represents the exposure per unit time of an image. In other words, the larger the aperture, the more suitable it is for taking photos in darker environments, making it more suitable for various scenes.

Have you applied any special effects?

What have you added and why you added them?

Our music video uses AE (Adobe After Effect) for special effects. I made color correction and adjustment with AE. It can be used for color correction and adjustment of images, including adjustment of exposure, contrast, color balance, etc. During the entire lens, as our overall color was relatively dark, I used exposure to add some exposure and brighter colors to this lens.

What is the significance and impact of editing to the beat? (cuts and transitions used?)

The significance of editing to the beat is that it can enhance the emotional impact of both visual and musical elements by establishing a seamless connection between them. It can also help create a sense of rhythm throughout a video or film, which can attract and hold the viewer's attention. Furthermore, editing to the beat can be used to emphasize certain moments or themes within the music or visual effects, resulting in a more powerful and cohesive message.

Overall: is the editing a success?

What has worked well?

What has been a challenge?

In general, our editing is very good. As a beginner of editing, I made many small mistakes in the early stage. Through my efforts and data searching, I completed our transition editing, color correction and adjustment, and subtitle adaptation of music video. Everything was done perfectly
